GATE Expands Global Footprint with New Facilities in Mexico and Europe

Tianjin, China—GATE, a well-known name in the automotive weatherstrip industry, is proud to announce its expansion into Mexico and Europe. This strategic move will enhance GATE’s services, bringing it closer to its customers. “Our goal is to provide the best service to our customers.” Says President and Co-Founder Long Au. “By being in proximity to our clients, we can offer faster turnarounds. Expanding into Mexico and Europe will enable us to offer price competitiveness by leveraging our global manufacturing capabilities,” Au said. He believes this move will help provide higher-quality service and tailored solutions.

GATE specializes in advanced technology injection molds, notching, stretch bending and roll-forming tooling and machines, and has a team of experienced engineers, designers, and technicians. To keep up with the latest developments, GATE’s team members regularly attend industry fairs and training sessions, often incorporating feedback following the launch of new programs. This approach enables the company to update its standards and enhance processes rapidly. “We have a dedicated team responsible for tackling new challenges, further enhancing our competitive edge,” adds Au.

The establishment of a facility in Santiago de Queretaro, Mexico, and the upcoming launch of a European facility in 2025 are critical components of GATE’s growth strategy, including contributing to the local workforce.

“We are committed to filling sales, management, and technical positions with knowledgeable and experienced people to help us start operations rapidly,” explains Au. “Our new facilities will be fully equipped to design, manufacture, and test our tooling and machines.”

Industry Trends and Challenges

As the automotive weatherstrip industry continues to evolve, it becomes increasingly essential to focus on reducing production costs and the weight of vehicles using sustainable manufacturing methods. GATE invests in the necessary technology to keep pace with these changes, reducing tooling development time by 25% compared to a decade ago. The expansion has its challenges, particularly among dense industry competition. However, with its experienced track record of attracting customers and delivering high-quality work on time, GATE is well prepared to face these challenges.

Looking Ahead

GATE aims to strengthen its three sites’ operational and organizational bases. The company is also developing automated solutions to manufacture around the clock.

Despite its positive plans for future growth, the organization’s goal remains the same: to keep its customers happy. “We have already engaged with many of our potential customers, and we believe that our technologies can appeal to industries beyond the automotive weatherstrip sector,” says Au. GATE plans to enhance its exposure through social networks and participation in trade shows to increase its visibility.

When asked what the most rewarding aspect of his journey with GATE has been, Au responds, “To witness the growth of our company while working with a great team.”
