Molds/Machine Tuning Technician
Are you a skilled technician with a passion for precision? Join our dynamic team at GATE in Mexico! We are currently seeking a Molds/Machine Tuning Technician to assist in the development and maintenance of our advanced rubber injection molds.
Key Responsibilities:
– Install molds on presses and adjust machinery mechanics.
– Conduct initial injections and finalize adjustments, including polishing and fitting.
– Polish parts to ensure compliance with industry standards.
– Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues with tools and injection parameters.
– Adjust and enhance molds/machines based on customer specifications.
– Assemble and disassemble molds/parts/machines as needed.
– Perform laser, TIG, and MIG welding.
– Operate manual conventional milling, lathe, drilling, and grinding machines.
– Complete mold/machine modification sheets accurately.
– Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications for tools, dies, prototypes, and models.
– Ensure all machined parts meet the required standards.
– Verify that tools, dies, jigs, and finished fixtures operate efficiently.
Qualifications:
– Experience with rubber injection molds, particularly TPE and EPDM materials, is preferred.
– Ability to communicate effectively; English language skills are an advantage.
– Strong technical background and attention to detail.

CNC Operator / Programmer

Key Responsibilities:
– Operate CNC machines effectively and efficiently.
– Verify the dimensional tolerances of parts using precision instruments.
– Ensure that drawing specifications are accurately followed.
– Maintain adherence to manufacturing scope and timeline.
– Follow all safety standards to ensure a secure work environment.
– Organize and classify technical drawings.
– Manage fixtures, tooling, and jig organization.
– Available to work morning, afternoon, and evening shifts, including potential overtime based on production needs.
– Configure conventional or CNC machines (including 5-axis Mikron with Heidenhein controller and 3-axis YCM FANUC MXP-200FB+).
– Perform daily preventative maintenance checks on machinery, equipment, and tools.
– Maintain a clean workstation while following occupational health and safety policies and procedures.
– Develop machining methods tailored for each part.
– Create new programming methods and optimize machining parameters.
– Receive training on five-axis machining techniques.
– Continuously improve manufacturing techniques.
– Keep programming software updated with assistance from the plant manager.
– Study specifications, tables, drawings, or samples to determine necessary machining operations.
– Read, interpret, and modify a variety of G-code programs for FANUC and Heidenhein controllers.
Qualifications:
– Proven experience in CNC operation and programming is preferred.
– Strong attention to detail and quality assurance.
– Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Mechanical Engineer
Mechanical Engineer – Tool Design & Robotics (Automotive Sealing Systems)
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in tool design and robotic systems integration within the automotive industry, specifically in body sealing system applications. This role involves developing custom tools, jigs, fixtures, and robotic cells used in the manufacturing and installation of automotive body sealing components.
This is a hands-on engineering role that requires creativity, precision, and the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams, including production, automation, and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop custom tools, fixtures, and automated equipment used in the manufacturing and assembly of sealing systems. (e.g., weatherstrips, door seals, glass run channels).
- Integrate robotics and automation for application processes (gluing, placement, inspection).
- Create and maintain detailed 3D CAD models and 2D drawings for manufacturing.
- Collaborate with process engineers and automation teams to optimize tooling for manufacturability, efficiency, and reliability.
- Conduct design validation, testing, and troubleshooting of tools and robotic systems.
- Support installation, commissioning, and continuous improvement of tooling and robotic systems in production environments.
- Interface with suppliers for tooling fabrication and robotic equipment integration.
- Ensure compliance with automotive safety and quality standards.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in tool design and robotics within the automotive industry.
- Strong understanding of automotive sealing systems, their assembly, and functional requirements.
- Proficiency in CAD software (Preferably NX).
- Experience with robotic programming and integration (e.g., FANUC, ABB, KUKA) is a strong asset.
- This is a home-based position, with the expectation of frequent travel to GATE facilities and client sites.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and automation systems.
- Familiarity with GD&T, FMEA, and design for manufacturability.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with Tier 1 or Tier 2 suppliers on body sealing applications.
- Hands-on experience in commissioning automated lines at customers’ sites.
- Exposure to Industry 4.0 technologies and innovative manufacturing practices.
